Rayonix, LLC (formerly Mar USA) has a new name, but a long history of providing the leading area detectors for X-ray diffraction applications. Based in Evanston, Illinois, we have been serving the X-ray science community since 1996. We are known for the original MarCCD detector, as well as its upgraded cousin, the SX-165 X-ray Detector, with installations in home laboratories and at nearly every major synchrotron worldwide. A major accomplishment in our history was the unveiling in 2003 of the largest commercially available CCD X-ray detectors for crystallography, the MarMosaic (MX Series) detectors.

Rayonix has the flexibility and the expertise to design new and custom detectors for the most demanding imaging applications. The first product of this new capability is the MX HE (High Efficiency) series of detectors, the first mosaic detectors in the world to be built with thinned, back-illuminated CCD chips.

Rayonix is also proud to be the North American distributor of products made by Marresearch GmbH. Marresearch is the maker of some of the X-ray science community's favorite instruments. Their latest equipment includes the Mar345 Image Plate Detector and MarCSC Cryogenic Sample Changer. Rayonix markets and services these products in North America, and Marresearch markets and services our CCD-based X-ray detectors in Europe.
